Roman is a business communications trainer in Malaysia. Originally from the Philippines, he completed his 120-hour certificate course with ITTT as his first step towards starting a career in English language teaching. In this TEFL review Roman discusses how he found that he learned much more than he expected from the course, including information about classroom management, lesson planning and phonology. This unit focuses more on classroom management which has to do with classroom arrangement, establishing rapport with your students and how you can use your voice as well as classroom discipline.I have learnt that the sitting arrangement in class has a vital role to play in classroom dynamics.I have also learnt that shouting to show annoyance is not a good response to problem behavior.It's always useful to review beneficial grammar points. It's especially useful to be able to put names to the devices which I have been using for my whole life - often subconsciously. It really makes me realize how difficult English can be, and it makes me grateful that I learned most of these things young or naturally! I can see how this would be difficult to learn when one is older.
