How Might Language Teachers Productively Blur the Line Between Tasks, Games, and Testing? - TEFL Blog
Elizaveta Pachina
Teaching Ideas
In the following essay, I consider something like a continuum from task to the game to assessment, but only in the bookend learning moments of "input" and "output." I often think of learners in my classrooms as a gray box—not quite a "black box," the inner workings of which are completely mysterious, but a thing into which we only ever have uncertain, provisional insight. We can do all sorts of theorizing about language acquisition and psychometry but will never have anything as exact as a litmus test. However accurate my notion is, it motivates me to focus on things that are much more knowable and observable: the inputs and outputs of a learning situation.

The Correct Order of Adjectives in English - ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ ITTT
Register now & get certified to teach english abroad!
When you use more than one adjective, you have to put them in the right order or it will sound very strange. Do you say, "I want a big black cat" or "I want a black big cat?" Let's take a look at infographic below.
So, do you say, "I want a big black cat" or "I want a black big cat?"
The first one is correct.
Why?
If "big" is size and "black" is color, then it should come first because size is number (2) and color is number (5) on the infographic above.
You can use this chart for all orders of adjectives. A quick and easy way is to always place the adjective that is easy to change first. Number 1 (Opinion) can be changed more easily than number 6 (Origin: where something is from). It is easy for me to change my... [Read more]

Should I teach English in a small town? - ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ TEFL FAQs
While many aspiring English teachers naturally lean towards urban centers for the sheer volume of job opportunities and bustling city life, there is a distinct allure to teaching in smaller towns. However, for those with the freedom to choose, the benefits of small-town teaching can be substantial and rewarding. Here is why teaching English in a less urbanized setting might be the right fit for you:
Less pollution and noise
Less traffic on the roads
Seeing students and families outside of class
Unusual traditions
Learn about the town and community
