A school in New York City is looking for a TEFL qualified Native English speaking teacher to teach classes of up to 15 students around 18 hours per week. Approximately 6 hours per week on top of that are allocated to attend training sessions, meetings, faculty gathering, etc. The start date is April of this year. Previous teaching experience is required. For more information, and to apply, contact David Hughes at the e-mail address given on the job heading.
Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.
In this Unit, I learned about how to Teach receptive skills that are Reading and Listening.
The receptive skills are listening and reading, because learners do not need to produce language to do these, they receive and understand it. These skills are sometimes known as passive skills. but I want to make the point that reading and listening involve active participation on the part of the reader or listener.I found this unit extremely interesting and concise in detailing the different vocabulary and grammar functions. Each with its own unique technique in teaching, presenting and practise. Applying the ESA methodology creates a more structural and effective teaching approach. Not only is the ESA methodology effective for the teaching of language, but highly effective for students' learning of the new language.
