Set in the beautiful Royal Burgh of St Andrews, The International Summer School of Scotland offers a picturesque, fascinating and safe environment.
We pride ourself on employing highly-qualified and motivated staff in all departments. All our staff must possess an enthusiasm for working with young people and will be dedicated to providing a safe, secure, caring and nurturing environment for all our students as well as ensuring that they have the best summer experience possible in Scotland.
We currently have opportunities for summer school ESL team leaders. All applicants will be interviewed and profiled and all teachers/leaders will go through Disclosure Scotland to prove they have no criminal record of any kind. In additional all staff are required to go through The International Summer School of Scotland training.
Our leaders are those responsible for the pastoral care of our students. Each leader will be responsible for a group of students at all times and will act as a role-model and point-of-contact during the three weeks. A leader takes on many roles: friend, sister, brother, mother, father, teacher and leader all rolled into one. In addition leaders will be involved in putting together evening programs and activities for students when they are not in class or on a cultural tour.
All our leaders go through a staff orientation where they will be trained in the way the summer school runs and our philosophy. All our leaders must be enthusiastic, energetic and be able to connect with 14-18 year olds and most of all have a good sense of fun. If you are interested in being a leader this summer please email us and attach your CV, please also let us know what your interests are [email protected].
Our English language program is very popular and in order to keep classes sizes to a minimum we make sure we have a number of qualified English language teachers on board. All ESL teachers must have a TEFL qualification and relevant experience is a plus.
If you are interested in teaching English as a second language please with your CV attached. [email protected].
Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.
