I learned the phonemic alphabet, how phonetics can help my students with pronunciation since most words in English are not spoken as they are written. I leaned about the places of articulation in the mouth for example the glottis, the larynx, and the names of the different sounds that are made in the English language, such as fricative and plosive. In the video I leaned how to introduce phonetics to my students in an easy and fun way.This unit talks about the receptive skills, reading and listening. It speaks about the importance of receptive skills, why we use them, how they are used, how to approach language difficulty and gives examples of how a reading and listening lesson should be. This is all very helpful and has taught me many ways to teach the receptive skills and I now have a better understanding of the receotive skills so that I can successfully teach it.
