Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit covered the structuring of lesson plan;, how to format them, what to consider when formatting them, and tips for placing them in the larger context of the unit of study. It also included information on the present perfect simple tense, with suggestions of how to teach it. The majority of my learning was constructed around what to consider when creating a lesson plan, and how to teach the present perfect simple tense. The two videos in this unit demonstrated two different teaching approaches, showing the effects that good or bad teaching habits can have on a classroom. One particular thing that stood out to me was negative effect of telling students that a certain concept should be really easy for them, since the expectation for the concept to be easy only made students hesitant to participate because they were more afraid to make mistakes.
