Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

In this unit I learned the effectiveness of course textbooks; the advantages and the disadvantages of using them in a lesson. I learned that it can be helpful to have course books to give initial ideas for lesson plans however they should not be stuck to religiously as they are not always completely relevant and after using them for a long time the classes can become predictable and boring for the students.English has four basic aspects which are, reading, listening, speaking and writing. These have been divided into 2 main skills which are receptive and productive skills.Lesson 11 is about receptive skills which are reading and listening. I have learnt the different ways we could read or listen to any texts, reasons for doing so and what to consider when selecting reading or listening materials for students.
