Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit covered strategies and process for creating lesson plans. I think the most valuable take-away of this unit for me was that the plan should not script the lesson, but should be a framework that allows the teacher to stay on task while remaining flexible. I think that if I can get a stronger grasp on the lesson planning process it will allow me the spontaneity I desire, while still remaining goal oriented in my teaching. This unit gives an overview, and method for teaching new language to students. The unit gives instruction for the teaching of vocabulary, grammar, and language functions. I felt that the unit was too short to stand on its own. Since much of the discussion was about possible ESA study plans, and possible activities to teach various aspects of language, maybe combining this unit with the unit on lesson planning would be better.
