Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.
I found this to be a very interesting Unit, and learnt of the many ways a language is learnt and taught through the learning and behaviour theories, notably the difference between language learning and language acquisition, and how important it is to understand the Maturation theory to apply the correct teaching methods, and also how these will differ between the different age groups 5-9 year olds and then the 9-13 year olds. There are some aspects of this lesson that I think are going to be difficult to teach to the students. While there are some of the easier parts there are areas in which I can not imagine teaching any student easily. I think that this lesson prepared me for what to expect when teaching students about tenses, passive and aggressive speech. Overall, I would say that I am not looking forward fro this lesson, whenever it may come.
