This unit was extremely helpful to learn about the parts of speech and how they have different functions within a sentence.
I think it's important for a teacher to know a lot about grammar because through it we can explain many of the systematic changes or rules in a language system.
Another reason why learning about grammar is important, is because sometimes we can encounter students who like to know about it explicitely.This section covered modals, phrasal verbs and passive voice. Modals modify the meaning or quality of other verbs expressing qualities like obligation, probability or ability. Some modals can also change the politeness of a request. Phrasal verbs consist of a verb and one or two particles. Passive voice refers to where a sentence is modified to minimize or completely omit the actor and focus on the object being acted upon.
