Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.
Unit 19 covers how to teach special groups. This unit goes into detail regarding how to teach beginners, individual students, children, business English, and monolingual vs. multilingual classes. I found the information about teaching beginners to be the most relatable because I am currently teaching introductary English at a Japanese high school. I would classify my students as \"false beginners\" and \"young beginners.\"This unit is useful as an EFL teacher as it classifies different types of learners in a classroom. From begginners, individuals, young learners, business english, monolingual and multilingual learners. It is very helpful to distinguish the type of learner you are going to teach in order to know the type of approach you will elicit during the lesson. Knowing the do's and dont's is a good guide to a teacher for her students.
