If you are a lethargic closed-minded couch-potato who is afraid of travelling, click somewhere else. The INTENSITY School of English is looking for extraordinary candidates interested not only in teaching English in Poland (starting in January 2006), but also in broadening their horizons and developing themselves. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree and/or a TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certificate. Of course it helps to have teaching experience, but it is not essential. What's more important is that you are a confident, dynamic, sociable, creative and resourceful individual.

Why teach abroad? Teaching abroad is a unique way to travel and make money at the same time. And not travelling in the shallow, tour group, "see-it-all-as-quickly-as-possible" sort of way. Travelling in the true sense of the word: living in a completely different country, immersing yourself in a new culture and language and building lasting friendships with inhabitants of that country.

Why choose Poland? Strategically located in the heart of Central Europe, Poland is a country of rich history, fascinating culture and untouched natural beauty. It has undergone rapid change in the last decade and a half, and is now enjoying the beginning of a new era as a member of the European Union. It is an exciting time to be here and experience first-hand Poland's future unfolding. Polish hospitality is world-renowned - the Poles are as friendly as they are proud: always more than happy to show off their country to foreigners. And rightly proud they are - there's much to see and do.

Why choose INTENSITY? Our schools are located in the cities of Rybnik and Katowice, both in the Silesian province of southern Poland. Our locations serve as the perfect hub from which you can base your travels. Famous capital cities such as Warsaw, Prague, Vienna, Budapest and Bratislava are easily accessible and can be reached within about 4-5 hours. If you're interested in skiing or hiking, the ski resorts in the Beskidy mountains are only 45 minutes away! And of course Krakow, Poland's cultural capital, can be reached in one hour. Public transport in Poland is reliable and relatively inexpensive.

INTENSITY is one of only a handful of schools in Poland owned and operated by native speakers of English and employing only native speakers of English. This means that there is a unique relationship between the management of the school and its teachers of openness, respect and complete understanding - we are able to empathize with our teachers. Our policy of "happy teachers produce excellent lessons" is one that has made our school a success.

The INTENSITY School of English is part of the Callan Method Organization based in London. The Callan Method is a direct method based on conversation, and stimulates students to speak. After some practice, this method requires very little or even no lesson preparation from the teacher. We teach mainly adult students who need English for their professional and personal use. The relaxed and lively classroom atmosphere that we create is highly appreciated by our students and encourages communication.

Every year, we assemble the best possible team of teachers, and ensure that our students are exposed to a diverse range of talents and accents, whether they may be American, British, Canadian, Australian or South African. Our team is always well-balanced, with each teacher bringing his or her own unique character to the mix. The majority of our teachers decide to extend their contracts with us and most of the recruiting we do is to facilitate growth.

We offer: - Outstandingly competitive rates of pay The salary we offer is more than enough to live comfortably in Poland (where the cost of living is much cheaper than in Western countries) and of course to travel as you wish and enjoy Polish shops and nightlife.

- Allocated accommodation - Guaranteed minimum weekly workload - Full assistance in obtaining visas and work permits - Free in-house teacher training package (both on-arrival and ongoing) - Airfare allowance after completion of the contract - Friendly working environment in a young, dynamic team - Help settling in and ongoing support with personal, day to day problems - Medical support - Free Polish lessons - Free Internet access - Airport pick-up

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit describes the structure and potential forms of different English classes. You can structure classes around either grammar or vocabulary, but regardless of whichever one you pick, classes can be taught in several ways. Some lessons follow a straight arrow lesson plan which includes and engagement activity, a study activity, and then an activate activity. Other lessons include boomerang and patchwork lesson plans. This unit introduced the basis of language learning itself - meaning teaching vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure. Bringing back the ESA techniques, it helped me understand how these would all be taught in a classroom setting. This will be useful when I am teaching towards the end of this course because I will then have a basis of what and how I should approach teaching vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure.
