We currently have teaching positions available in our five schools in the south of Poland: Bielsko-Biala, Gliwice, Opole, Tychy, and Wroclaw, starting in September and October 2005. Bielsko-Biala, Gliwice, Opole, Tychy, and Wroclaw are ideally located for all those interested in Central and Eastern Europe. Places of great tourist and cultural interest in Poland like Krakow or the skiing resorts in the Polish mountains are in close vicinity, and they will also make a perfect set-out point for visitors to Warsaw, Prague, Budapest or Berlin. Our school does offer more than just the chance for a good time ? the teaching work is challenging, at times demanding and also varied. Our teachers organise student clubs and charity events, give lectures, and contribute to the creation of the school community. We offer our teachers a very competitive package, including: Basic contract information is as follows: Guaranteed minimum teaching workload of 26 hours/week. Salary starting at 30 PLN net (after tax) per one teaching hour (i.e. 50 minutes). Monthly net income amounts to approximately 3, 200 PLN based on the guaranteed workload. Optional extension of workload of up to 38 hours/week (when available), which gives a net income of approximately 5, 200 PLN . Airfare allowance of 1200 PLN (paid after a teacher has worked until the end of the contract). Work permit and translation of all documents from English into Polish. Assistance with healthcare. (The school pays for basic healthcare at private clinics if a teacher becomes ill, and covers the cost of doctors appointments, emergency first-aid and the cost of obtaining prescriptions. The teacher pays only for medication.) On-going professional development (in-house training sessions, workshops and external seminars). Ski-passes (if you are a skier or willing to learn how to ski). Friendly environment Our teachers are expected: to participate in an initial intensive teacher training session, as well as regular professional development sessions (workshops, case studies, student focus groups) to conduct lessons (usually in the afternoons between 3.30 pm and 9.20 pm, and additionally in the mornings and on Saturdays on a rotational basis). to assess their students: conduct and correct tests and homework to prepare and conduct lectures on topics of interest (such as culture and sport) twice a semester to participate in the school's teacher and student social events to participate in peer observations to provide students with consultation hours (twice/ week) Please find enclosed our job application form and a recruitment handbook with detailed information about the school, our teachers and life in Poland.
