Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

In unit 6 I learned a lot about how to teach pronunciation and phonology. It is important to pronounce individual sounds with stress, and intonation. The basic form of intonation is the rise/fall pattern. Fall rise is when surprise often being a disagreement but wanting some type of response. Flat intonation indicates that the speaker really has nothing to say or does not want to say much. This was a good lesson into what the TEFL course has to offer, and also what sort of things to expect in the classroom. I also like how it offered insight into different teaching styles, and techniques, and how to use them all appropriately as to provide the class with the information they need to know while also giving them an opportunity to practice learning a new language for themselves.
