Unit 9 gives guidelines on planning lessons which firstly, helps you to structure your lessons into logically and plan how to effectively use the lesson time. The lesson plan also allows you to order your thoughts and serves as a reminder to bring you back on track should you wander off topic. Lastly, the lesson plans keeps a record of what the class has done in case someone has to stand in for you on short notice.Once again these rules are important, but when teaching, you have to ask yourself what is important. What I want is for my students to experience the English language. The language contains culture and history. I want the language itself to be important. The rules are nice, but I guess they are necessary if the language is your L2. I grew up speaking English so, I guess that is why this all seems so unnecessary.
