Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.
In this unit, different techniques to indicate intonation and stress are introduced, such as contrastive stress, choral work and much more. Also, the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) chart that is adopted universally by English speakers from different geographical areas is covered in this chapter as well. The standard set of phonetic symbols is touched upon in this chapter along with the complex aspect of articulation.I do believe that each unit of this course is going to be very important. Personally i think this unit could be called the ABC of TESOL, since it provides us with various categories of both teacher's roles as well as student categories, it broadens my understanding of student motivation and reminds me that a good teacher must be always respectful of age, gender, culture as well as religious differences of students in class.
