Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.
Unit 17 explains the various classroom equipment and teaching aids. The most common classroom equipment are; the white and blackboards, interactive whiteboard, the overhead projector, visual aids, worksheets and work cards, cassette recorder, CD player, VCDs and DVDs and so on. The advantages and disadvantages of each of these equipment are discussed, and some ideas about how to use them are mentioned in the unit. This unit has been a great tool since I am not a native speaker and learnt those grammatical rules when I started to learn English. From a teacher perspective, I believe the challenge will be to succeed explaining those rules in the easiest way possible.
Learning how to differentiate and describe the different parts of speech also helps focusing on the importance of each part and the relationship between them all.
