Vilnius International School provides Lithuanian and expatriate children aged 3 though 16 a rigorous international education that aims to inspire the commitment to become learners for life. We have occasional opportunities for TEFL qualified teachers and welcome applications from teachers who live, or plan to live, in Vilnius. Our school was founded in 2004 by a group of parents and educators from Denmark, Finland, Lithuania and the United States, each of whom sought an educational experience for their children different from that available in Vilnius at the time.
LOCATION:
Our school is a beautiful place to work or study. VIS moved to a renovated 2,000 square meter building in the heart of Vilnius Old Town in 2009. Our beautiful school abounds with a sense of history and charm. The plentiful windows offer light year round, as well as inspirational views of the Old Town skyline.
Our school is located on a cobblestone street hidden at the base of Latako gtv. Facilities include a gym, assembly hall, computer lab, library and a spacious cafeteria and kitchen, comfortable open work areas and an enclosed courtyard for outside play.
Within 3 years of moving to the Old Town, we outgrew our premises and in September 2013 have expanded our facilities into an additional 850 square meter upper school facility. The new space lines the courtyard perimeter along Latako Street. The current upper school premises house a modern science laboratory, a design technology laboratory and an art studio and gallery. The most popular space with students is the Loft, a flexible community space.
VIS is planning to further expand the upper school. We anticipate opening our new building in 2020.
