Southwest School, located in La Esperanza, Honduras is seeking elementary school teachers for preschool-sixth grade for the 2007-2008 school year. The class size ranges between five to twenty students. La Esperanza is a quiet small town located in the mountains of Southwestern Honduras, situated at en elevation of 1700 meters above sea level, providing a much cooler climate than most of Central America. We are seeking qualified applicants who are willing to work closely with colleagues and parents to provide the best possible educational environment in a developing educational program. While Southwest School lacks many of the materials and guidance that are expected by US standards, enthusiastic teachers will be able to experience a rewarding working environment with full support from the school and parents as well as practice teaching strategies with little interference.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

How can a teacher provide an effective and conducive learning environment? This is one question answered in this unit. The different classroom managements laid out in this unit are useful in maintaining discipline as well as an effective classroom. Once a teacher learns and practices these classroom management styles, a class will be more disciplined and productive resulting in a more satisfactory learning process. In this unit we learned about pronunciation. I learned the phonetic alphabet and their proper sounds. I also learned about the way your mouth and surrounding organs move and work in order to make proper sounds. This unit also instructed the proper ways to teach pronunciation of the english language to non native speakers. The unit gave me fun and interesting techniques to teach the proper ways of pronunciation.
