This unit helped me to envision the clear advantages and disadvantages of course books as opposed to free lesson planning. I think the bottom line that I am coming away from based on this lesson is that teachers must never become complacent in their teaching. In other words, teachers who are truly successful are those who constantly analyze, evaluate, and examine their own plans and ideas in order to improve them.This unit discusses productive skills: writing and speaking. It shows that while most students will be more interested in learning how to speak English, the writing portion should not be overlooked. Punctuation is different in every language, so it is important to learn the punctuation used in English. Some students may not use the same alphabet as English, so they will also need to learn how to write our letters.
