The Braeburn Group of International Schools is a group of 9 co-educational international schools offering British/International curricula in Kenya and Tanzania. With a community of nearly 100 different nationalities and nearly as many different cultures, we have occasional opportunities for TEFL qualified teachers. Working in a diverse multicultural environment offers the opportunity to broaden knowledge and experience. Candidates will be expected to commit themselves fully to the curricular and co-curricular aspects of the schools. All Braeburn Schools follow the National Curriculum of England and Wales. We prepare students for IGCSEs, A-Levels, IBDP and IBCP & BTEC Level 3 Diploma. Our schools are located in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Nanyuki, Dar-es-Salaam and Arusha.
WHY WORK FOR US?
We belong to both the Kenyan and Tanzanian international schools associations, which allows for further opportunities for training and the sharing of good practice. We are committed to attracting, developing and retaining the very best teachers through fostering a friendly, caring and supportive environment.
Our schools are located in international hubs, with unparallelled opportunities for sport, socialising and travel. White sand beaches, game parks, nature reserves and Africa’s highest peak, Kilimanjaro are all close at hand.
Supporting our teachers:
We offer a comprehensive professional development programme, with many local and international providers. We strive to identify potential in our staff and offer the appropriate training including both InSeT and leadership programmes, and back this up by actively promoting staff within the group. We also have links to a number of universities, both local and overseas; we are the local provider of the International Post Graduate Certificate of Educational (PGCEi) through the University of Nottingham.
TO APPLY:
Apply via email to the address given on the job heading, clearly stating the position you are applying for in the subject line and attach a letter of application, full CV, a recent passport photograph and the contacts of two referees.
Braeburn Schools are committed to safeguarding children and young people. Short listed applicants will be asked for an ICPC or the equivalent from the country of current employment, or, for locally recruited staff, a Criminal Investigations Department (CID) certificate of good conduct.
