Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit gave a basic overview of the qualities of teachers and learners, the different levels of learners, and the different ways a teacher can approach teaching a given lesson. In this unit I learned that there are a wide variety of teaching strategies, and based on what I read it seems that a varied use of these strategies is necessary to keep the class interesting and keep the students motivated. It is important for the teacher to engage with their students. Learning their names makes each student feel important. Being entertaining makes the students at ease and makes them laugh which makes them more attentive. Using gestures and mime helps the students make the connection with what you are teaching them. The teacher actively engaging in the learning process is a great benefit to the students.
