There is really a formula to teaching ESL. you can change your teaching strategy as long a syou follow the rules of learning. It does not matter what subject you are teaching as long as you follow fluid lines of teaching. It does not matter wether you are teaching four year olds about the daily forecast or fourteen year olds about the history of a nantion. As long as you follow proven methods of teaching, everybody will learn. This was a tough unit because it gave names to forms that I am used to using without thinking about why. To give a reason and identify why that reason causes a specific form to be used was difficult. I can see better how it would be difficult for students to learn these. It seems easier to read and listen to English often, and so develop a feel for the right form than to study and that way choose the right form while speaking.
