Discipline is one of the hardest components of teaching. The chapter provided great techniques to keep the students engaged while creating an organized environment in the classroom. I thought the emphasis of having the classroom to be a neutral space was a great concept. By keeping a neutral environment that is not dominated by neither the teacher nor by a group of student, creates a natural flow of learning for the classroom.In order be a successful teacher, first and foremost the teacher must have a good rapport with his/her students. A teacher should have a positive approach, should smile and try to make the class enjoy learning English. It's important for teachers to get the students involved by calling them by their first names, by mimimg, showing pictures and of course using the blackboard in order to be clear when explaining new grammar points.
