Berkeley House Language Center is proud to announce the launch of our online program to cater to our highly mobile, highly global minded business clientele. We are currently seeking vibrant and skilled EFL instructors to join our talented team of teachers to instruct various face-to-face lessons at our school and/or corporate locations throughout the Kanto area, as well as online programs.
GENERAL SCHEDULE & CONDITIONS:
WORK DAYS:
・Five days a week
*Candidates able to work weekends preferred.
WORK HOURS:
・20 - 25 work hours per week.
・Up to 23 teaching hours per week.
(Shift Example)
・Monday~Friday
 Average of 4~5 hours between 9:00am~6:00pm
・Saturday and/or Sunday
 9:00am~18:00pm (1 hour break)
LOCATION:
・Berkeley House Language Center, Ichigaya School
 2 minute walk from Ichigaya Station
*Online lessons to be taught from the school
*Our clients' venues in Tokyo/Saitama/Kanagawa/Chiba area
DUTIES:
・Online English Instructor - conduct 25 minute online lessons using Berkeley House original curriculum, from our school in Ichigaya.
・Substitute Instructor - cover face-to-face lessons at our school in Ichigaya or other locations in the Tokyo area
・Possible dispatch assignments to various locations within the Tokyo metro area
・Other duties include giving placement tests, writing reports, participate in meetings and training programs, assist in administrative work, etc.
STUDENTS/CLASSES:
Our students include corporate office workers, professionals, and full time students preparing for or attending university.
TRAINING:
Ten to twenty hours of training will be provided.
REMUNERATION:
230,000~300,000 yen/month
*Remuneration depends on the applicant’s qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate will be:
• A native level speaker of English.
• A dedicated team worker.
• In possession of a four-year degree from an accredited university plus a TESOL, TEFL, and/or teaching certificate. (Masters’ degree in a relevant field is a definite plus)
• Have at least two years’ experience teaching non-native speakers of English.
• Japanese language skills are not required, but a plus.
• Experience teaching online is also a plus.

We provide on-boarding training sessions, various pre-assignment trainings with our in-house trainers/senior instructors, as well as specialized training in various standardized tests by our IELTS and TOEFL experts. We also provide periodical feedback from clients, followed by additional training or assistance if required.
Our in-house trainers, curriculum department and the education department are always happy to work with you so that instructors can deliver their best possible lesson to our clients
-Instructors can expect a friendly environment where there is open communication among instructors and with staff - a mentor instructor will be available to address any questions/concerns you may have, not only about teaching but also about working with Berkeley House, living in Japan, and about life in general if required. Seasonal events are planned for instructors to promote communication and socialization.
