Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.
There are many and varied kinds of equipment and teaching aids available to teachers teaching ESL. They all have their advantages and drawbacks. Using a combination of them will make the classes varied and will appeal more to different students at different times. Most importantly the teacher will make sure that the aides are working properly before the class begins so class time is not wasted with technical problem solving. This unit covered information regarding modals, phrasal verbs, and the passive voice. These language attributes are very important to explain when teaching English. Teaching students to correctly use passive voice helps students avoid switching between passive and active voice. It is necessary for students to understand the differences so that they will be able to effectively communicate with employers, coworkers, and peers.
