Date posted:2003-10-29 | Writer: International Education Centre Inc. | Email: [email protected]

We have the reputation of having one of the happiest working environments in the area, with a mixture of Local and Native-speaking Teachers, who all work hard but have lots of fun too.

Unfortunately, one of our Native-speaking Teachers will be moving on at the end of January to experience new adventures and challenges in other countries. We are, therefore, looking for a replacement teacher able to start work in the middle of January 2004.

To qualify for this vacancy, you should have completed a 4 to 5 week EFL certificate course that includes teaching practice. We prefer applicants to have at least one year's experience, although we may waive this requirement for applicants who show clear promise. We offer excellent teacher support and development opportunities throughout the term of the contract, which is initially for one year. We also help you in adjusting to life in Indonesia, a wonderful country, but with a completely different culture which takes some people a little time to get used to.

If you love teaching, are qualified to RSA CELTA standard or equivalent, preferably with some experience, have no dependents, and want to try life in one of the most beautiful islands on earth, we would like to hear from you.

We offer:

A competitive salary One year renewable contract Visa and Work permit (paid for by the school) A round trip economy class air ticket (50% reimbursed at the end of 6 months and the remainder at the end of the contract.) 18 days paid holiday (+ all Indonesian public holidays) Free living accommodation in a large house (sharing with other teachers) Medical insurance Free Internet access End of contract bonus Fiscal fee of 1,000,000 Rps at end of contract

Our students are mostly children, teenagers and young adults studying General English. However, we are developing our adult and business classes, and will be looking for teachers to cover these classes in the future.

If you are interested in joining us, and can start mid January 2004, please e.mail your c.v., together with a covering letter and a copy of your passport and certificates to the address below. Please include in your covering letter, brief details of your working history to date, the type of level and age groups you prefer to teach, and your reasons for wanting to come to Indonesia. We may also need to interview you by telephone. Please give a day and time convenient for this purpose.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

I feel I learned a lot during the viewing of both these videos. The teacher was obviously acting in the first one, doing as many wrong things as he could think of that a teacher shouldn't do in the classroom. It was hard to watch, the poor students! The 2nd lesson was very well done, just a bit too much TTT for me and the mistake of not defining the difference between the real and imaginary animals at the activate phase near the end. There are many teaching equipments to make learning more interesting and effective. The aids used in classroom teaching are the board, interactive whiteboard, overhead projector (OPH), visual aids, worksheets and work cards, the cassette recorder, CD player, videos and DVD, video camera, dictionaries, course books, resource books, photocopies, computers, online sources. These all topics are explained with types, uses and principles.
