I felt this unit to be quite useful. Although I have teaching experience, it is always nice to see some new techniques and differentiated ways of teaching a topic/lesson. I felt that the ESA (Boomerang, Patchwork) information was very useful. There have been a lot of different methods introduced in this unit that can really help in a class where traditional methods may or may not be working effectively.This unit was all about tips and things to keep in mind when teaching new vocabulary and grammar. I learned how to best select vocabulary by keeping in mind the appropriacy to the students and the assignment, how often students will likely come into contact with the words, and the teachability depending on the level of students. I was also given activity ideas for the engage, study, and activate phases.
