We are a private school for foreign languages in Croatia. Our school is situated in ศakovec, a small town in the north-west Croatia, not far from Austria, Slovenia and Hungary and even not very far from Italy. We also have a branch in Zagreb, the Croatian capital. It takes only one hour to get from ศakovec to Zagreb. Our school was established 14 years ago and our students range from kindergarten children to adults.
Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.
To differentiate between the different forms of past tenses there are cue words that help the student understand which form is being used. Understanding what form of the verb is in use will help show which tense is in use.
To help students understand it is best to show them pictures and have them create stories of what had happened in the past. Best to pair students up in order to allow for more student talk time amongst the pairs.In the unit lesson it covered how intimidating it is for teachers to even attempt this subject but I do feel it will be something students will expect more than anything else from their teachers. The parts concerning the phonetic script was incredibly useful for me. I have tried in the past to learn some of it but found it too challenging. This time around I was able to read through the questions in this quiz with greater confidence.
