The East Finchley School of English was founded in 1988 and has an established reputation for offering excellent teaching in a friendly and stimulating environment at affordable prices. The school is registered with the Department for Education and Skills on its Register of Education and Training Providers

The school has chosen to remain small with around 120 students enrolled at any one time. The student profile is very diverse. Last year, there were more than 45 different nationalities represented in the School.

Our classes are small and friendly, with an average of 6-14 students, so that each student can receive a great deal of individual attention.

The School currently has four full-time and three part-time teachers. All our teachers are qualified and have an enthusiasm for teaching and are committed to ensuring that their students learn all the skills they need, and to teaching the language in an interesting and stimulating way.

The School is situated in the very pleasant residential area of East Finchley in north London.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Unite three covered multiple theories, methods, and techniques when working in the classroom. I have learned much, including the different approaches and methods depending on the level of the students. I learned that much of my focus for this course is going to be on the method of Engage-Study-Activate since it is the most effective and most logical of methods for new teachers to learn and apply in the classroom. This unit introduces the main characteristics of CTBE course and gives teachers some brief ideas of what they are going to get from the course which includes course contents, aims and objectives, some general terminologies, and a brief introduction of general business English as well as teaching of English for special purposes (ESP). Furthermore, it offers different employment prospects which is quite beneficial.
