Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Unit 16 discusses conditionals and reported speech. Conditionals are when sentences contain 'if' or when, referring to past present and future situations. There are five main conditionals; zero conditional, first conditional, second conditional, third conditional and mixed conditional. When teaching the differences and use of these conditionals a TEFL instructor could use exercises such as split sentences, \"complete the conditional\Modals are used before other verbs to add meaning to the main verb, and can b e used to express a number of ideas, such as: obligation, possibility, permission, ability or advice. The modal auxiliary verb can also be used to express degrees of formality. Even though they have similar meanings, they would be used in different situations as a second sentence. In this Unit we also read the difference between the Active and Passive voice.
