Taiyuan Mercan School

Since 1997, Taiyuan Mercan School has worked hard to maintain itself as the premier private English training school in Taiyuan, Shanxi. We are quickly growing and have recently opened a second branch of our school, a precedent for a private English school in Taiyuan, with 3 times the present area of our first school's location (total over 1, 000 square meters).

We are currently looking for both summer and full-time teachers, and are planning to hire 5 temporary teachers from early July till the end of August, and 2 full-time teachers that can begin as as soon as possible.

Full-time teachers need to:

Be native English-speakers from any country where English is the primary language (not the primary second language). Have at least a Bachelor degree in any discipline. Have at least one year of formal teaching experience. Be suitable to teach all age groups, particularly children (ages 9 and older). Commit to a contract of no less than 6 months. Confirm flight information and arrival date within 10 days of being offered a position.

Benefits: Provide private accommodations in a furnished apartment in a nice, safe and clean area of the city. All of our foreign teachers live in the same area. Free local phone calls and utilities. Handle and pay for the work visa process. A base salary of RMB 1, 000 per month plus RMB 40 per teaching hour (RMB 5, 000 per month for teaching 25 hours per week). For any overtime teaching (more than 100 hours in a month), the teacher will be paid RMB 80 per hour. One-way airfare to the city where the teacher came from for completing a 6 month contract, or reimbursement of round-trip airfare for completing at least a 12 month contract. Four weeks annual paid holiday (contracts for 12 months or longer only). Free use of the Internet both in the office and your apartment. Free Chinese language lessons. Help you to find a good Kung-fu teacher if youกฏre interested to study martial arts.

Summer teachers need to:

Be native English-speakers from any country where English is the primary language (not the primary second language). Have at least some teaching experience. Be suitable to teach all age groups, particularly children (ages 9 and older). Be able to teach for the duration of Taiyuan Mercan Schoolกฏs Summer Program from July 8 จC August 23. Confirm flight information and arrival date within 10 days of being offered a position and be in Taiyuan by July 5. Be at least 18 years old.

Benefits: Free accommodations shared with other summer teachers in a furnished apartment in exchange for teaching. These apartments are in the same area and up to the same standards as the ones for the full-time teachers. This is a good chance for students, teachers without qualifications and travelers to experience China by having the majority of the time to travel or do things in the local area without the expense of lodging. If there is enough interest among the teachers, Chinese language or martial arts lessons can be arranged. Summer teachers will be required to pay a small deposit of RMB 1, 000 (a little over $US 100) in the event of any damages to the apartment, which will be returned when the teacher leaves after an inspection by a TMS staff member.

This lesson showed me potential mistakes in teaching ESL to adults. It also contrasted a \"bad\" teacher with a \"good\" teacher and prompted me to identify, understand and analyse the mistakes that the two teachers have committed. It also showed me what a good lesson would look ;like and what a good lesson poorly executed end up feeling like. It was, generally speaking, a very good lesson that helped me a lot to improve as a teacher.The teaching environment as well as my behavior and the one of my students are playing a huge role in how effective my classes are. Teaching always envolves socialization and individual and social behavior and teachers have to be capable to recognize and use the positive and correct instruments to create the perfect educational environment for the students. It begins with learning students' names and a good preparation for the class.
