General Description We are looking for experienced and qualified teachers from Kindergarten to Grade 12. The successful candidate will be passionate about their career and an inspiring educator that values a collaborative work environment. This is a full-time contract for a two year period (beginning in August). CIS follows an Alberta-based curriculum from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Alberta’s education system is recognized internationally as one of the best learning systems in the English-speaking world. Alberta students have placed among the top academic performers in all five cycles of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) held since 2000. CIS is at a very exciting time in its development as a new state-of-the-art campus and we are growing every year. We have been an Accredited Alberta International School since 2016.Qualification Bachelor of Education, and related experience needed. Potential staff would already have Alberta certification or be candidates for Alberta teacher certification. Role - Ideally experienced with the Alberta curriculum. Homeroom teachers teach all the Core subjects to their students. Instruction is 100% in English. - Able to differentiate instruction to enable all learners reach success - Able to work with English language learners and engage students in an academically rich environment - Create a safe and caring learning environment within the classroom - Build strong partnerships with other teachers, share experience with peers and pursue professional development opportunities - Use technology in the classroom and engage the parent community through consistent and effective communication - Be willing to assist in organizing events, trips and/or school events
