Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

The unit covered the productive skills of speaking and writing. It addressed typical problems and issues with each productive skill. I especially appreciated the note that writing is not often practiced in class, relegated to homework, and thus not properly taught. I know this to be true from my own language courses in other languages and makes me want to make a special note to help students have more guided practice in this area. This unit was about different theories and teaching methods, along with expectations on how different young age groups may act. Also, I learned how an effective teaching is just as important as maturation process. Although five to thirteen is the age group I am learning to teach, each year is a huge developmental period for young learners and I need to consider their different behaviors to provide more effective learning environment.
