High School English Teacher Core Teaching Responsibilities:Develop and deliver engaging classes aligned with College Board and ETS standards for TOEFL and SAT, respectively.Utilise diverse teaching methods like lectures, discussions, activities, and technology to cater to various learning styles.Design practice tests, mock exams, and personalised homework assignments to reinforce learning and identify areas for improvement.
Assessment and Feedback:Grade tests, essays, and assignments, providing constructive and actionable feedback to students.Track student progress, analyse results, and suggest individual strategies for improvement.Collaborate with other teachers and counsellors to ensure well-rounded support for students.
Expertise and Innovation:Maintain a deep understanding of current testing formats, scoring rubrics, and effective test-taking strategies.Stay updated on educational trends and best practices in TOEFL and SAT preparation.Develop and share innovative teaching materials and resources to enhance student learning.
Additional Responsibilities:Attend professional development workshops and conferences related to test prep and pedagogy.Contribute to curriculum development initiatives within the school's TOEFL and SAT program .Participate in school events and activities that support student engagement and success.Maintain clear communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher in education, English, or a related field, and a TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certificate or equivalent.At least two years of teaching experience in an international setting, and a strong command of the English language.Familiar with the IB curriculum and assessment standards, and be able to adapt your teaching methods to different learning styles and needs.Be culturally sensitive, respectful, and enthusiastic about working with students and colleagues from different countries and backgrounds.
