Instituto Chileno Britanico de Cultura was founded in 1938 in Santiago-Chile and has opportunities for experienced EFL teachers who are available to start in March 2013. The Institute has aproximately 13,000 students per year on its 5 branches in Santiago and different agreement with the school sector and Universities. Teachers are expected to teach at any of the 5 branches. The contract is a one-year contract for 120 hours per month, including a one-month paid holiday to be taken in February 2014. The 120 hours are split into 100 teaching hours and 20 hours presence time, on the corresponding venue. The candidates should be willing to, and able to, teach at any of the branches of the British Institute or other venues where the Institute may run courses e.g. offices/universities/schools, etc, and be aware of the fact that the teaching hours will be devoted to different areas such as: General English Courses, Business English or Teacher Training. QualificationsThe ideal candidate should have:3 years' experience in teaching English as a foreign language to different types of students.A TEFL / TESOL Certificate, RSA Diploma or CELTA/DELTA or any other that certifies training.A letter of reference from last employer.Some Spanish language knowledge is a plus, as is some experience with examination preparation.Benefits include:A fortnight complimentary accommodation with meals on arrival.Accommodation subsidy of US$200 (approximately)per month for 10 months.Remuneration: $750.000 Chilean pesos (US$1.550 gross approximately).A year contract with the possibility of extending it. The Institute draws up an employment contract for the candidates in accordance with the regulations in force for foreigners, and makes the corresponding legal deductions (pension Funds and Social Security, approx. 19% from salary).The prospective teachers are entitled to some of the benefits Chilean teachers may receive such as bonuses on good performance (25% of a month's remuneration in December), the possibility of attending different training seminars, including those to become Cambridge ESOL oral examiner, etc.The contract will be issued in Chile and then sent for your signature. Visa and work permit are dealt with and paid for by the Institute. At the end of the contract teachers may claim back some of the money that goes for pension in the monthly deductions.It is advisable to get health insurance.
