Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.
What I have learnt from that unit is the fact that pronunciation and phonology is a vaster and more complicated part of teaching English language than I thought before. Now, I can also practice my pronunciation which is specially important, as I am not a native speaker. Phonetic script is very helpful to check pronunciation of new English words. Here I have also read how to demonstrate and explain proper speaking to my students. This unit was particularly interesting to me because it covered learning English for business purposes. I learned the motivation factors will vary greatly with business men and women from that of school age children due to their work. I learned from this unit that the engage - study - activate phases of a lesson can be applied across all classrooms, regardless of if you're teaching young students or adult business men and women.
