Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

In this unit, I totally understood the difference between simple past, past continuous, past perfect and past perfect continuous. Although they are not easy for students to clear them up, teachers have to distinguish them to students and do a lot of practice so that students can use them in a correct way. I think for these various tense, teachers have to create more scenarios in order to help students to use them in their daily life. This unit is much more complex than many of the ones before. I can see how this material would give a lot of trouble to non-native speakers. In teaching it, it is good to see all of the technical pieces broken out. When teaching, I can only imagine having to spend a lot of time with students on this section. They have got to have all tenses down pretty well in order to even follow and learn the technicalities of conditional speaking.
