Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.
This unit covered 2 different lessons: one that was ineffective and effective. It shows little gestures like smiling and attitude affects how students participate in the lesson. Being organized and knowing what you want to present at what time helps keep it organized. By learning your students' names, they feel more included in the class and are more willing to answer questions and work with each other.This unit was much more class oriented. It put the pieces together and painted a picture of what a class looks like in different settings and areas of English teaching. There were many important reminders about more than just the teaching but also interaction with other people who I may come in contact with through my teaching. Over all I feel I have a better idea of what teaching looks like in practice.
