This, admittedly was one of the more difficult units for me. Specifically i struggled with remembering the conditionals but having the teaching ideas helped me maintain a better grasp of the material at hand. Direst speech to and reported speech were easier concepts to digest. I am now starting to realize that my teaching skill may be best used at a lower educational level to prepare myself properly with concepts I fully grasp.The conditional tense deals with both actual and hypothetical situations and their consequences with main and if clauses. Reported speech deals with backshifting tenses when relaying information to a third party, and is horrendously complicated. Reported speech, because of its varying rules, may be one of the most difficult concepts to teach, and may require careful thought and techniques to avoid confusion as much as possible.
