Full-time (24 hrs/wk) TEFL position at the American Language Center, Casablanca from Sept. 2003. Beg., Int. and Adv. level classes in Adult and Young Learners Programs (ages 15-50). Mostly evening work; Sat. classes probable. Candidates must be able to deal with material in an essentially communicative way. In-house training provided. For a teacher to deliver positively in class,class management should be taken seriously. Class management entails organising and managing the class while being friendly,fair and firm for discipline to be maintained.For good communication and discipline, the teacher should have eye contact from time to time with students,good use of gesture and good voice projection. These are some of the important points for a proper class management.This unit provided a lot of information on how to manage a class properly. I believe it has been mentioned multiple times to increase the student talk time over the teacher talk time. Sometimes trying to pull away and step back is the hardest because itâ€™s a lot easier to have complete control of the classroom. Obviously, we have expectations on how the class would run but being prepared for the unexpected is definitely important.
