The American School of Benguerir, a sister school of the American School of Marrakesh and the American School of Tangier, is an independent college preparatory school located in Benguerir, Morocco. We have two open positions:- Preschool (3-year olds)- Preschool (4-year olds)ASB offers an American education based on the AERO standards (American Education Reaches Out). All subjects are taught in English. Students are also introduced to Arabic and French as of Preschool.
Position Overview:The American School of Benguerir is seeking passionate and dedicated Preschool Teachers to join our team. As a Preschool Teacher, you will play a vital role in nurturing the intellectual, social, and emotional development of our youngest learners. You will create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment where children can explore, discover, and grow. This is a full-time position based at our school in Benguerir.
Responsibilities:• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and educational activities that align with the school's curriculum and promote the holistic development of preschool children.• Create a warm and supportive classroom environment that fosters a love for learning, encourages curiosity, and promotes positive social interactions.• Provide a variety of hands-on learning experiences, including play-based and inquiry-based activities, to facilitate the development of cognitive, language, motor, and social skills.• Foster the development of early literacy and numeracy skills through storytelling, rhymes, songs, and engaging maths activities.• Implement behaviour management strategies that promote positive discipline and teach children self-regulation and conflict resolution skills.• Monitor and assess each child's progress and development, maintaining accurate records and sharing feedback with parents/guardians through regular progress reports and parent-teacher conferences.• Collaborate with other teachers and specialists to support children with diverse learning needs and ensure an inclusive classroom environment.• Establish effective communication and partnerships with parents/guardians, keeping them informed about their child's daily activities, progress, and school events.• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by adhering to school policies and procedures, maintaining a clean and organised classroom, and supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities.• Participate in professional development opportunities, staff meetings, and school-wide events as required.
Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.• Teaching certification/licence in Early Childhood Education.• Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching preschool-aged children, preferably in an international or multicultural setting.• Sound knowledge of child development principles, early childhood pedagogy, and best practices in early education.• Familiarity with play-based learning approaches, emergent curriculum, and inquiry-based teaching methods.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents/guardians, and colleagues.• Patience, creativity, and a nurturing demeanour to effectively engage and support young learners.• Ability to create a stimulating and organised learning environment that reflects the interests and needs of preschool children.• Flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.• Proficiency in English is required, and proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.• Valid work permit or ability to obtain work authorization in Morocco.
