The Lycee Francais Blaise Pascal in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, is now hiring passionate and adaptable qualified English Language and Literature teachers and Humanities Teachers for the Franco-American International Sections of the Secondary schools/high School ( Lycee) starting September 2024.
French Lycee BLAISE PASCAL is a purpose built school and one of the oldest and most respected educational establishments in West -Africa, built in 1981 and recently totally refurbished. The school boasts exceptional facilities and an open minded leadership team in this vibrant West African city of Abidjan.
The school delivers the French Curriculum with an International American Section, catering to over 1600 pupils from 11-18 years of age. It is one of the largest French establishments within the AEFE network ( Agency for French Education Abroad)
We are looking for:
Qualified American trained or schooled secondary school English and Humanities teachers to teach the American International Section pupils aged 11 to 18, from the 6eme to the Terminale levels
Ideally relatively familiar or keen to familiarise themselves with the French education system.
Permanent full time basis from Sep 2024 with a competitive package and housing allowance contribution
This is a challenging yet rewarding experience for those who want an experience of living and teaching in one of the top ranked French schools, with a renowned American International Section, in West Africa.
Successful candidates will speak and understand written French and have some experience of delivering ideally US or UK based curricula and teaching to children between ages 11 to 18 ( College and Lycee)/Grades 6 to 12 .
Requirements:
-min 2 years teaching experience
-Notarized Bachelor’s Degree and/or teaching degree from American or anglophone University, ideally with some experience of teaching in the US
-TEFL/TESOL certificate preferred
-Good written and verbal understanding of the French language
-Notarized and clean criminal background check, valid within 6 months
-Ability to adapt in a highly dynamic evolving international school within a West African environment
