UWC Waterford Kamhlaba is an international school located in Eswatini, Africa. We are a part of the United World Colleges movement and offer education to students from diverse backgrounds. Our aim is to provide a challenging and transformative educational experience that empowers our students to become agents of positive change in their communities.

We are currently seeking an experienced English Literature Teacher for our High/Secondary School department. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching literature as per the IB DP curriculum.

Skills and Qualifications:

- A Bachelor's degree in English Literature or related field

- TEFL/TESOL certificate preferred

- A postgraduate degree would be an added advantage

- Minimum 3 years of experience teaching literature at high/secondary school level

- Professional teaching qualification e.g. PGCE

- Knowledge of the IB DP curriculum

- Teach across the three Phases of the school: Lower Forms, IGCSE and IBDP

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles

- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail

- Work with colleagues in the department to plan units and lesson, and to continually improve and align pedagogical approaches

- Contribute to student growth outside the classroom by supervising a community service activity, club and/or an extra-curricular activity

- Passion for student-centered teaching and learning and the ability to develop meaningful relationships with young people

- Serve as tutor to 12 students

- Perform residential duties

- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people at the College
