The role of the EAL Teacher is essentially to build and maintain a successful EAL Program which includes providing support for students with English Language needs (beginning to intermediate), preparing EAL students to independently access our curriculum in English, and to collaborate with the grade level homeroom teachers.
Teaching Responsibilities? Develop and implement the preparation, planning and delivery of EAL classes and activities for students? Build on student capabilities and differentiate to meet students’ needs? Collect and analyze data such as WIDA, DRA and MAP scores on student performance to ensure a successful progression of English Language acquisition? Evaluating the program collaboratively with teaching partners, and parents and students as appropriate, using agreed upon flexible systems
Job Requirements? Alignment with the HIS Mission? Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree though a masters is preferred.? Additional qualifications/endorsements for working with English Language learners from an accredited institution? IB knowledge and experience? Minimum three years relevant experience and knowledge of best practices in the content area.? Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree (Masters degree preferred).? Teaching Certification in the content area for the position (TEFL/TESOL).? Police clearance from your previous and home country.? Safer Recruitment Review.
