  • Jobs Teaching English in Poland, Various Cities

    Close

Writer: English Wizards | Email: [email protected]

, and Wroclaw, have an abundance of teaching jobs available and don’t suffer from over-saturation of English teachers like some European cities such as Barcelona, Prague, and Florence do. At least not yet! English teachers will find a wide variety of jobs available in Poland. In the private sector, there are opportunities to teach at private language schools which cater to both adults and children, as well as preschools. Business English is also growing rapidly, and many teachers will sign contracts directly with a company to teach their employees. Jobs in primary and secondary schools exist as well, mostly in the form of teaching assistantships. Private tutoring is also very popular. Schools hire teachers year-round to fill the constant demand, with peak hiring season being at the start of the academic year in September. Although summer camps are not as widespread as they are in other European countries, teachers who choose to stick around over the summer usually have no problem keeping their schedule full until the fall. Salary and benefits: Salaries for native teachers range between €8 and €16 per hour, depending on your experience and qualifications. With a typical teaching workload of 25 hours per week, a teacher should expect to earn something in the range of €750 to €1500 per month. Considering the low costs of living in Poland, this allows for a fairly comfortable lifestyle, covering various “extras” such as regional travel around Central Europe. Additional benefits of being with English Wizards include: • Legal work visa BEFORE coming to Europe • Work anywhere in Poland – uniquely, the visa through our program allows teachers to teach anywhere in the country, not just at one school • Job placements & assistance • Optional airport pickup and arrival assistance • Accommodation assistance • Lifetime access to a wealth of teaching resources, such as lesson materials and job guidance • Onsite support from our 24-hour support staff • Orientation and regular social events • Being part of Poland’s largest community of English teachers (50+ active teachers and counting) Requirements: All teachers must be native English speakers. We can accept non-natives on a case-by-case basis assuming that you can speak English at a native level of fluency and have a clear accent. Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply - we pride ourselves on having a diverse community of teachers from every corner of the globe. Currently our teachers come from 16 countries and 5 continents. If you are not a native speaker, please include an audio or video clip showcasing your English abilities in your application. Non-native applicants without proof of excellent English fluency will be rejected. A BACHELORS DEGREE IS NOT REQUIRED TO TEACH IN POLAND! However, we require that all teachers have at least a 120-Hour TEFL/TESOL Certification and/or prior teaching experience. Finer English is a virtual school - we have no school building and no staff-room where teachers can swap ideas at lunch-time. Lessons are taught on our clients' premises - all of which are reachable by public transport from Kassel city centre. Because teachers do not meet daily, regular communication by telephone and e-mail is essential. Teacher training sessions are held several times each year to develop teaching skills, exchange ideas and reinforce the co-operative team spirit. Teaching according to each student's specific business needs means we use no set text books unless specifically requested. Teaching materials appropriate to the needs of each individual student are provided by Finer English. Qualifications: ·         Applications will only be considered from native level speakers of English. ·         A current driving licence would be useful. ·         Applicants should have at least two years of relevant teaching experience. ·         Formal EFL qualification is desirable but not a must. ·         Personality is important. We are seeking an energetic, open-minded teacher with a passion for both teaching and the English language. ·         Applicants should also have a good knowledge of world events and business terminology. ·         Finally, candidates should be excited both to learn new things and continually improve themselves as teachers. Compensation: The advertised vacancy is a freelance position. Starting rates are commensurate with teachers' experience. TO APPLY: If you are interested in the position, please send your CV along with a current photograph to the email address given on the job heading.   Due to the high volume of applications we typically receive, we will not be replying to any applicant who does not fulfill the job requirements specified in this advert.          Read more

The British trainers/volunteers are expected to teach English through games, drama and other fun activities to the pupils (aged between 7 and 16). However, it is not the trainer’ responsibility to look after the children. There will be teachers to do that. There will be around 170 children in the camp and 12 trainers working with them, with a ratio of one trainer to about 15-20 children. The timetable is very flexible and it is always planned and discussed with the trainers in advance. We are dedicated to making the trainers’ stay in Romania a memorable one. Our pupils speak very good English so communication with them will not be a problem. However, the younger ones may need support and guidance sometimes but organizers and other teachers are there to help all the time. We think that there is no right or wrong way to teach and we believe that each British trainer brings his or her own style and ideas. If a trainer ever becomes stuck for ideas or just needs a little support, the camp organizers are always there to help. The activities reserved for afternoons and extra time are varied and depend on the trainers. If they have any interests or hobbies that could be transformed into workshops then we would encourage trainers to be creative. tion, they have to have the necessary life experience to be a solid partner in conversation with our course members. We also therefore ask that they have a bachelor’s or higher level of education and can speak multiple foreign languages, including Dutch. We place great value on having a well-balanced team of language trainers because this allows us to offer complete customisation to our course members. This means that we have in-house trainers with such varying backgrounds as technical, HR, marketing and management. Besides this, we compose teams with the ability to speak a range of supporting languages. Our trainers receive in-house guidance in giving lessons based on our method. This intensive integration programme lasts three to four weeks and one aspect of it is following an intensive language training programme here at our institute. On average, a language trainer teaches four different course members in a week. The one-to-one training is also extremely intensive for the trainers, so our trainers work part-time: generally four hours a day, five days a week. As a language trainer at Regina Coeli you are expected to work in a creative and professional manner in a team of trainers to provide language training for well-educated professionals. At Regina Coeli we offer both individual lessons and group activities. Quality is our priority and language trainers are encouraged to keep developing their skills.
