and don’t suffer from over-saturation of English teachers like some European cities such as Barcelona, Prague, and Florence do. At least not yet!
English teachers will find a wide variety of jobs available in Poland. In the private sector, there are opportunities to teach at private language schools which cater to both adults and children, as well as preschools. Business English is also growing rapidly, and many teachers will sign contracts directly with a company to teach their employees. Jobs in primary and secondary schools exist as well, mostly in the form of teaching assistantships. Private tutoring is also very popular.
Schools hire teachers year-round to fill the constant demand, with peak hiring season being at the start of the academic year in September. Although summer camps are not as widespread as they are in other European countries, teachers who choose to stick around over the summer usually have no problem keeping their schedule full until the fall. SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salaries for native teachers range between €8 and €16 per hour, depending on your experience and qualifications. With a typical teaching workload of 25 hours per week, a teacher should expect to earn something in the range of €750 to €1500 per month. Considering the low costs of living in Poland, this allows for a fairly comfortable lifestyle, covering various “extras” such as regional travel around Central Europe.
Additional benefits of being with English Wizards include:
• Legal work visa BEFORE coming to Europe
• Work anywhere in Poland – uniquely, the visa through our program allows teachers to teach anywhere in the country, not just at one school
• Job placements & assistance
• Ongoing training
• Optional airport pickup and arrival assistance
• Accommodation assistance
• Lifetime access to a wealth of teaching resources, such as lesson materials and job guidance
• Onsite support from our 24-hour support staff
• Orientation and regular social events
• Being part of Poland’s largest community of English teachers (50+ active teachers and counting) REQUIREMENTS: All teachers must be native English speakers. We can accept non-natives on a case-by-case basis assuming that you can speak English at a native level of fluency and have a clear accent. Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply - we pride ourselves on having a diverse community of teachers from every corner of the globe. Currently our teachers come from 16 countries and 5 continents.
If you are not a native speaker, please include an audio or video clip showcasing your English abilities in your application. Non-native applicants without proof of excellent English fluency will be rejected.
A BACHELORS DEGREE IS NOT REQUIRED TO TEACH IN POLAND!
However we require that all teachers have at least a 120-Hour TEFL Certification and/or prior teaching experience. HOW TO APPLY: Contact us at the email address given on the job heading for details of the application process.

Room and board includes housing, three meals per day, and basic amenities such as laundry and cleaning. Because we are a community-based, non-profit entity, we cannot provide a salary or stipend for our volunteers.
Living with a local family provides volunteers an opportunity to become part of the local community, experience Costa Rican daily customs and lifestyles, learn Spanish, and participate in a cultural exchange. While your primary role will be teaching English, you will also have the opportunity to develop other projects. In the past, our volunteers have built community gardens, taught dance classes, and formed a children's choir.
LOCATION: Our community is located in the beautiful Zona de Los Santos, Costa Rica, about two hours south from San Jose (the capitol) in the heart of the coffee growing region of Costa Rica. We are surrounded by beautiful mountains, national forest reserves, and some of the best bird-watching in the world.
WHEN: We are interviewing candidates on a rolling basis. We ask that all volunteers commit to a minimum of three months, but volunteers available for longer stays (6 months or more) are highly preferred and will be given preference.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: * Native level English Speaker. * Some knowledge of Spanish. * Undergraduate or graduate degree in education (or related) and/or TESOL/TEFL certification and/or 1 year-plus experience lesson planning and teaching English. * Experience teaching and working with children or teenagers. * Willingness to integrate with the local community and live with a local host family. * Must be resourceful, flexible and independent (both in working and living arrangements). * Commitment to service and volunteerism. * Should be computer savvy, able to use the internet, Facebook, etc.
VOLUNTEERING: Because we are community-based, there is no fee to volunteer with us nor can we offer a salary or health insurance.
OUR PROGRAM DOES PROVIDE: * Daily interactions with native Spanish speakers to improve your proficiency in this language. * Teaching materials. * Ongoing support from the learning centers' board members and a director to help meet your needs and resolve any challenges that may arise. * Transportation from Juan Santamaría airport or your current location in Costa Rica to the community; and from Copey to Juan Santamaría airport on the day of your departure. * The volunteer is responsible for his/her flight in and out of Costa Rica for the duration of his/her stay, and of buying a traveling insurance that will last for the entirety of their stay.
TO APPLY: Contact us via email at the address given on the job heading. Include your resume, cover letter, and two references. You will also be required to provide a copy of your criminal record before the interview.

se our materials to focus on high student production of language (speaking and writing in meaningful ways). We focus on supporting our teachers by provide you with training, exams, DVDs, audio CDs, teacher books, and ELC guides/lesson plans which show you which units to cover and how to teach those units. This is a big plus, as it makes planning time minimal. We are located in the beautiful city of Arequipa, which is set in a picturesque valley, surrounded by 19,000+ foot (6000 meter) tall mountains and El Misti Volcano. The weather is fantastic, with 300 sunny days per year and temperatures between 65 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the year. The valley is fed by three rivers; thus it has many parks and green areas. We are also located 80 miles from beaches on the Pacific coast and only a one-hour flight to Lima or Cusco. Peru is a developing country, so our students can’t afford to pay a lot for their courses. Therefore, we can’t provide airfare or housing. However, it is important to understand pay and the cost of living in Arequipa. Our teachers earn, on average, about $5 USD per hour. This may not seem like much, but minimum wage in Peru is about $1.40 per hour. So, our teachers earn much more than local workers and can live comfortably on their pay. Most teachers live in “casonas” which are 200+ year old stone haciendas/houses with inner courtyards surrounded by private rooms and private bathrooms which face the inner courtyards. Others rent private rooms or mini apartments in homes of local families. Rent usually runs between S/500 and S/700 per month ($150 to $205), including utilities. Our teachers usually earn between S/1500 to S/2000 per month (Peruvian Nuevo Soles) which is about $460 to $600 USD. For those who want to earn more money, we usually have private tutoring and extra groups available. The majority of teachers teach 120 hours per month. Our teachers don't get financially wealthy, but the experience of living and teaching in Peru is priceless! It should be noted that all instructors teach on a split schedule, as Peruvians want to study before going to work/school in the mornings or after work/school in the late afternoons/evenings. That said, most live within a 15-minute walk to our two locations, so there are no long commutes, such as is found in big cities. If you are the type of person who is flexible, enjoys helping others learn and enjoys discovering new cultures, ELC is the place for you! TO APPLY: Are you ready to join the ELC teaching family? If so, please send your resume and a recent photo to the email address given on the job heading. Read more
