The Secondary EAL Specialist Teacher (7-12) reports to the Head of Learning Support and Head of Secondary and works closely with the Head of English and other personnel to ensure optimum student learning. He/she is responsible for developing and conducting learning programs for secondary students with EAL needs.The EAL teacher will:
• possess a sound knowledge of a broad range of learning needs to promote students’ social, emotional, intellectual and physical development;
• have experience in catering effectively for the range of student abilities;
• have classroom teaching and co-teaching experience (ability to teach or support subject English and/or the NSW Higher School Certificate EAL/D course is desirable);
