Oxford School of English is a well-recognised language school in Madrid that throughout the years has gained the respect of students and teachers alike due to our sincere commitment to teaching. A TESOL qualified native level English teacher is urgently required to fill a teaching position for the last term of the current academic year. Benefits include block hours, paid holidays, and social security. The contract starts 01/04/2019 and ends 30/06/2019. There will be a possibility of renewing the contract for the full academic year 2019-2020.
The small number of staff encourages a team-work atmosphere, making easy the sharing of ideas, strategies and projects. The management, always supportive, offers the teachers help not only in academic matters but also with more day to day issues (accommodation, Spanish ID, etc.)
JOB DETAILS:
The role is to teach a wide range of students, from beginner to advanced level.
Teacher will also teach a diverse group of ages, with the youngest students aged only 3. All classes will be taught in our academy in C/ Tembleque, 134 and the working days are Monday to Friday, between 16:15 or 17:30 and 21:30.
On completion of the role there is the possibility of renewing the contract for the full academic year (2019-2020) if the teacher and academy are happy to do this.
TEACHER'S RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Preparation and imparting classes.
* Attending monthly meetings.
* Supervision of exams and their correction. (Exam papers supplied by the school)
* Writing of mid-term and end-of-term reports.
SCHOOL ORGANISATION:
* Small groups (10-12 students)
* Students are grouped according to level and age.
* All students and teachers have their own books.
* Ages range from 3 years old.
* Levels from Beginner to Proficiency.
* Preparation for external examinations: Cambridge KET, PET, FCE, CAE & CPE; APTIS, TOEIC (R) and IELTS(TM)
* Most classes taught on premises. (No travelling)
CONTRACTUAL DETAILS:
* Legal contract according to Spanish law.
* 3-month contract from 1st April to 30th June
* 19/21 hours a week. Block hours. All weekends free.
* Holidays depend on the Spanish official school calendar and local bank holidays.
* Apart from Christmas, Easter and the national and local bank holidays, teachers are entitled to a few days holidays which will be paid on the termination of contract.
* Wage according to experience. Minimum wage 1040,00 gross for 20 hours. Taxes and Social Security deducted according to Spanish Law.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates should be native level English teachers with a recognised TEFL qualification and university degree.
All applicants must be European citizens or hold a valid European work permit.
At least one year's teaching experience
Experience with pre-school children (ages 3-5) as part of the role includes working with children of these ages.
Experience of teaching advanced levels, such as CAE preparation classes.
