Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.
This unit clearly identified the different parts of speech and gave examples of each part of speech. Here, I reviewed the uses of the different parts of speech in sentences. This section also highlighted the differences between definite and indefinite articles, countable and uncountable nouns, different verb forms, and transitive and intransitive verbs. It also highlighted the different types of adverbs, prepositions and conjunctions. It helps me to realise that English has 12 tenses, rather than one, in the case of Chinese language. I find clear and useful the way how it's been organised 93 for each time, present, past and future). What strikes me is how to explain the present perfect or perfect continuous to students who know nothing about it? I feel compelled to find to teach them effectively, and using the ideas suggested in this unit is a good starting point.
